Koya Nyangi is a native of Kenya and the founder of Let Me Show You Different, a fashion company and blog that spotlights African brands and designers allowing them to penetrate a much larger global market. Koya acts as the intermediary between retailers and buyers in the US to facilitate positive and rewarding wholesale business relationships with the African fashion community.

A cutting-edge stylist, Koya has also worked as an editorial stylist and a fashion writer with international and local publications such as 303 Magazine, Cherry Creek Fashion Magazine, Culturs Magazine and Sheen Magazine. She also completed a campaign titled ‘100 Days of Denver Fashion’ to propel and document the growth of Denver Style through her blog @letmeshowyoudifferent.

Having lived in London, India, Dubai and my current home in the United States, my experiences have only ignited and confirmed that nothing beats African style. It is uniquely different and has a fresh perspective that should be mainstream for the world to see. As a Kenyan native my unique perspective allows me to frame the conversation around African fashion through a unique global lens

MY WORK

I started my fashion journey working as an editorial stylist on fashion campaigns, with magazines and brands. I have also worked as a fashion writer and a brand consultant here in the US. I understand the importance of showcasing a brand, getting you exposure, and telling your brand story to create loyalty.

My work in the industry has allowed me the opportunity to interact with retailers, buyers, press, stylists, forming strong relationships with key influencers and consumers on ground. I have been fortunate enough to have held webinars, spoken on panels to educate about African fashion and been featured in US magazines as both a stylist and advocate for the black community and for MADE IN AFRICA.

A true fashion advocate holding a deep sense of pride for for fashion from the African continent.

MY MISSION

Only in the past few years has an African fashion ecosystem begun to develop. We are finally seeing some connectivity between designers from the continent, as well as African labels making substantial waves on international shores.

As an African fashion advocate my mission is to usher in African fashion to the global consumer while allowing for emerging brands from Africa to penetrate a bigger and more seamless part of the overall global fashion narrative.

As a representative for African brands, I help buyers to discover and to carry African lines as they strive to be more inclusive with global opportunities.

By working with my company, I identify and match you with the right brand that fits your style. I take away the hustle that comes with bringing in a new line from a place you are curious about but are unfamiliar, scouting the continent to create an accessible pool of brands for you to choose from.

As a brand, you create fashion that tells a narrative and visits the roots of your African culture. I can lend my expertise and knowledge as an African fashion advocate to showcase your visions to the world, connecting African brands like yours to a global consumer. My goal is to partner on your journey, helping to facilitate your international exposure, growth, and brand expansion, which will reach new target markets and strategically grow your brand.
