There are many things I believe in but in terms of fashion and why, among other reasons, I named this blog Letmeshowyoudifferent was to showcase and help you develop an authentic sense of style without having to break the bank. I think everyone wants to be fashionable but not all of us have the luxury to buy new clothes every single day. Fashion is for everyone but style say’s ‘only me’ so at the end of the day, style is what endures.
I love transforming pieces, so this time around was this wrap skirt and white shirt. I bought the wrap a while back, wearing it as a sarong at the beach. But…A wrap, whether a dress or a skirt is one of those fashion pieces that is versatile. It works with all body shapes and types. Look at it as a towel, a robe or a kimono it will work no matter what; adjusting it to your size and tighten it to how you see fit.
I like the design of this wrap skirt because of the orange markings which adds a bit of flair on the brown color that could have otherwise been dull. The white shirt created a formal but informal look, I tied a knot to make it sexy and created an illusion of a deep V by not buttoning till half way. For an element of texture, sexiness and romance I wore fish nets which adds unexpected drama. I opted out on the heels but went for my Chelsea boots because (a) the weather was unpredictable (b) for comfort, although I feel it also helped complete the look and pulled it together.
Accessorizing is the key to going all out in any outfit, so my colorful tribal choker gave good balance to the white shirt and, you know me, I had to have a turban. I loved how I transformed this wrap skirt from a beach wear to an everyday look. So, if you have a wrap skirt laying around, I hope you now have an idea to style it. let me know how it turns out!
